DRAGON EGG ENLARGED BACKPACK® – from Direct Action

The original Dragon Egg® backpack from Direct Action has consistently been one of the company’s best-selling products and has found a home among a wide variety of users – from commuters and hikers, to first responders, law enforcement tactical teams, and military special operations forces.

This new 30-litre capacity version should prove very capable for everyday use as well as being a good 3-day sized patrol pack. Like its predecessor, the Dragon Egg Enlarged® is made from a combination of Cordura® 500D nylon and laser cut laminate.

The main internal compartment features a zippered mesh pocket for small items, and the front compartment includes an internal organizer system for conveniently carrying and locating small tools, personal equipment, and cell phones or radios. The pack also features a back pocket that is padded with protective foam for safely carrying tablets or laptops (up to 15″ size). On the sides are pockets for water bottles or other items that you might want to have quick and easy access too. The pack also features two hydration system pockets to choose from – one internal and one external.

Making the Dragon Egg Enlarged particularly useful for tactical, SAR, and military users is the fact that the pack and the hip/waist belt include sections of laser-cut panels that are compatible with MOLLE / PALS configured pouches. The hip belt can be detached and used separately, or together with a pair of lightweight shoulder straps that are included with the pack.

REVISION MILITARY SNOWHAWK™ GOGGLE SYSTEM

Cold climate operations have become an essential tactical focus for militaries around the world, with many dedicating more resources to training in the Arctic and other cold weather regions. To that end, Revision Military developed the SnowHawk™ Cold Weather Goggle System in collaboration with Anon Optics, a leader in goggle design for snow sports and a brand owned by Burton Snowboards, the world’s leading snowboard company. The SnowHawk™ is the first-ever fully integrated ballistic goggle and balaclava system offering complete face coverage, superior anti-fog performance, and ballistic protection.

Extensive time, attention, and resources were dedicated to ensure breathability as well as warmth and anti-fogging:

Mesh over the mouth and nose directs breath away from the goggle; the dual-pane thermal gasket lens creates an insulated barrier; built-in top and lateral forced-air vents provide constant airflow; and, Revision’s leading OcuMax© Plus coating is applied on the inside of the lens to prevent fogging, plus a hard-coat is on the outside of the lens to resist scratching.
The SnowHawk system’s balaclava design utilizes Anon’s Magnetic Facemask Integration (MFI®) technology to seamlessly integrate the goggle and balaclava, ensuring stabilization and seal, with no skin exposed. The system achieves total face and head coverage, but is also intuitively designed for ease of use and swift removal when necessary.

Revision unveiled the SnowHawk™ at SOFIC 2016 and will also be showing the system at the Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) trade show in the UK in September and at AUSA in Washington, D.C. in October. The demonstrator model is shown in our SnowDrift® camo pattern as market-tester and capability demonstration.

Designed and built in-house, PenCottCamo.com is the new central, brand-hub for the PenCott® family of camouflage patterns from Hyde Definition Ltd.

This is the first time that the PenCott® pattern family has had its own dedicated website, and greatly expands and improves upon the PenCott® pattern content that has been previously held on the HydeDefinition.com website. Among other enhancements, the new site features an in-depth look at the development of the patterns, what makes them so effective and where the name ‘PenCott’ comes from.

Another key highlight of the new site is the wide-ranging and ever growing gallery of submitted photographs showing the performance of the patterns in-the-field around the world. There’s even an interactive map of the world that lets you select to see photos of the patterns in use by country (and by state in the US).

IWA 2015: the PenCott™ spring offensive

One of the most eagerly awaited appearances at this year’s Enforce Tac and IWA has got to be Direct Action – the new advanced, professional brand from under the umbrella of Helikon-Tex. Saving the biggest news for last! – the Tacticaltrim booth at IWA will be something like PenCott™ Zentrale this year.
